Frequently Asked Questions

Q: HOW MUCH NOTICE DO YOU NEED TO CREATE A PICNIC?

A:  Like all great restaurants, we do get fully booked especially on weekends, so the more notice you can give the better! For Celebration Picnics and certain add on options we do require a three week notice. 

Q: WHAT DOES MY PICNIC INCLUDE?

A: All of our packages include basic rentals for you to enjoy, including tables, pillows, blankets, table décor, flatware, glassware, plates, and napkins. 

Q: WHAT ARE THE FOOD OPTIONS?

A: We offer charcuterie boards and elevated food options that you can explore here. You are also welcome to bring your own food, as well. 

Q: SHOULD YOU INCLUDE SMALL CHILDREN INTO THE GUEST COUNT WHEN BOOKING?

A: If you’d like us to include seating and food for them, then include the kids in the guest count. If you have questions, you can always email us and we’re happy to talk it out.

Q: DOES THE BRIE & BASKETS STAFF  STAY DURING OUR PICNIC?

A: No, we leave after you're settled and return once your picnic reservation ends. If you need us during your picnic, you can call or text your Brie & Baskets team member and they can be on site within minutes.

Q: CAN WE LEAVE WHENEVER WE WANT?

A: If you would like to leave earlier than the arranged time, please provide us a 30 min notice via phone call or text. You are responsible for the picnic items until we are able to return and pack up, and no refunds will be given to any picnics where the full reserved time isn't fulfilled. 

Q: HOW DO I SELECT A LOCATION?

A: Choose from one of our preferred locations or email us to collaborate on a special place. If you have a different location in mind, please send that over with your inquiry. 

 

Q: HOW DO I BOOK? 
A: Please complete our build your picnic form on our BOOK NOW page. From there, we will schedule a phone call with you to review all your picnic details and to discuss next steps. When you are ready to book we will send an invoice - 50% is due at the time of booking to reserve your date along with a security deposit, and the remaining 50% is due 72 hours prior to the event. We will also send you an electronic contract. 

Q: WHAT'S YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

A: We don't offer any refunds but we can change your reservation time if we have availability within 72 hour notice. After that, there is a 50% rescheduling fee to move your reservation. Bad weather reschedules do not accrue a rescheduling fee. 

Q: WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE IS BAD WEATHER?

A: While bad weather happens, we do our best to still make your picnic happen. We require a preference to be made upon booking if you prefer to move indoors to Terrene, your own home, or reschedule. Changes due to weather must be made 72 hours prior to your picnic. There is no cancellation charge for rescheduling your picnic due to bad weather. 

Q: WHAT ABOUT ALCOHOL?

A: We do not provide alcohol except for a complimentary bottle of champagne with our engagement picnic. We will provide glassware for you and you may bring your own beverages. Please note - Pittsburgh Public Parks do not allow alcohol and we are not liable if you choose to bring alcohol beyond our discretion.
